“India is passing through a very critical period these
days. Constitution, five year planning and establishment of educational
institutions were not the real problem for India after 1947. I think, the
problem which is going to effect the life and destiny of this country for
centuries to come is that a healthy and robust society possessing a sound
temperament is existing or not? Because the human life derives its nourishment
from here. The change of governments, which we face after about five years, do
not been much significance. The quality which will fix a place for India among
the group of nation and give it her due respect and honour is that our society
saves the country from such conditions that would otherwise lead it to the last
pit of destruction and lead the country away from the hanging sword. It is not
the secret of strength of a country that: what is its military power? What is
its budget? How many universities it has? What is the condition of peace and
security of the country? These things cannot stop the destruction.”
