Take care of your society
“Those people who keep a sharp eye
on the needs of the country and temporary emotions are not dominating them,
they will agree with me that the greatest need of the hour is the revival of
the moral feeling and moral responsibility which should uplift the
authoritative class from the lowest level of corruption, excessiveness,
injustices, narrow-mindedness, nepotism and unjust favouritism. Save the
country from excessive desire of profiteering of the trading class and
employees, bribery and black marketing; and rescue the country from general
disorder and mismanagement, unemployment, perplexing dearness and famine, whose
danger is hovering on our heads and which turns the paradise of freedom into
hell of troubles and hardships. Perhaps no one will deny this fact that this
moral need has the priority over all our educational, literary, cultural and
linguistic needs. Suppose, hypothetically, the country has only one culture,
one civilization, one language but this immorality is not rooted out which is
making the life hard, has it fulfilled the real need of the country and will it
cast a veil on the immoralities and corruption.
If all the ill mannered people and
habitual criminals whose moral level is lowest and whose life standard is inferior
adopt one language and one culture, will any world civilization and any world
court remit their crimes? If all the robbers of the world wear the same dress
and speak the same language, will it be a thing of pleasure and security? So, it
should be expected from a sensible man that he will divert his attention to
those ailments which are eating the country like termite and hollowing its
foundations”.
